Trading Standards Business Information

Trading Standards - Business Information

Swindon’s Trading Standards section is committed to supporting genuine traders.  We offer free expert advice to help businesses comply with the various pieces of Trading Standards legislation.   The Contact Us section gives details on how to contact our Consumer Advice service which provides free advice to businesses.

The enforcement work carried out by the section protects local businesses from unfair competition from rogue traders who engage unfair trade practices.

Our Fact Sheets and Leaflets section contains general information for traders on the trading standards laws that businesses need to comply with.  Some of the more popular documents can be seen below: -

                    Issue 2
                    Issue 3

The Trading Standards section protects the safety of Swindon residents and workers by ensuring that petroleum is stored in a safe manner.

Traders who sell age-restricted products to minors are breaking the law and risk prosecution.  We support the CitizenCard, the proof of age card that helps retailers reduce under age sales.

You can check out up to date information on recent scams that have been targeting businesses.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, or simply want further advice you can use our contact details and information request form.
