CitizenCard Update

CitizenCard - Update

Rolling School Programme

To facilitate the issue of the CitizenCard, proof of age card to as many young people in Swindon as possible, Swindon Borough Council has developed a rolling school programme.  This has been made possible with the agreement of every secondary school in Swindon due to the recognition of the benefits provided by the cards in protecting local young people.

During the school Summer Term each year the Year 8 pupils are informed of the benefits of owning a CitizenCard during an assembly session and they are then given the opportunity to apply for their first CitizenCard free of charge via a photo session held at the school.

The table reflects the percentage take-up of the CitizenCard in each school year 8 group over the last three academic years.
