The Corporate Procurement Policy and Strategy was developed by the Director of Procurement and the newly formed Corporate Procurement Team in September 2005.
The Procurement Policy outlines the Team’s commitment to delivering high quality procurement by setting rigorous quality standards and monitoring performance and procedures to ensure best value delivery of goods and services. The Corporate Procurement Strategy provides a high-level view of the procurement plan over the next five years and is a live document that will be updated as business priorities change.

SBC requires all staff involved in procurement to adhere to and promote the following principles:

Whenever economically advantageous, collaboration with other public bodies, private sector and voluntary organisations and consortia will be sought in order to widen the scope of SBC procurement experience, and to maximise economies of scale.
