Nationwide

Nationwide Building Society

Nationwide Building Society has been working with Connect Supported Employment Service to offer supported work placements to people with learning and associated disabilities. Following the success of a pilot in its Direct Savings Department, Nationwide now offers opportunities across its business.

A Win Win Situation

Key to the success has been the unique one-to-one support that Connect provides to the person on work experience. This support is extended to co-workers as well, to maximise the learning opportunity for the placement for all parties. A win win situation in the truest sense!

A Flexible Approach

Nationwide have been happy to revisit their procedures when necessary and adopt a more flexible approach to training to meet individual needs. This helps to remove barriers to employment.

The Future

Nationwide and Connect will continue to work closely to identify and develop opportunities to meet diversity and equal opportunity policies in innovative ways.

Employers, Speak to Nationwide Yourself

If you would like to speak to Nationwide about this work, please telephone Sally Isom, Disability Communications Manager, on 01793 655772.
