Fish Brothers

Success at Fish Brothers

Fish Brothers have helped two young men with learning disabilities to achieve their ambitions to work in prestigious garages in Swindon. Both started their jobs on a work experience basis. This gave them the opportunity to learn the skills of the job ‘on the job’, rather than in a classroom.

Introducing Sean ...

Fish Brothers were very impressed with the first person, Sean, who Connect introduced them to.  Supported by his Job Coach, Sean quickly became a valued member of the Honda Team, helping to valet cars that were in for service.

Because of his disability, Sean wanted part-time work. His work and the added value that he brought to the team were appreciated and Fish Bros offered him a part time contract.

... And Ricky

Fish Brothers were so pleased with Sean’s appointment that they were happy to offer an opportunity at another dealership – Toyota - to Ricky. Ricky’s experience followed the same pattern of hands on experience with one to one job coaching support and again Ricky became part of the team and was offered a paid contract.

From their initial hesitation, Fish Brothers have been keen to develop a partnership with Connect. They have found that the diversity that employing people with learning disabilities brings enhances their teams and business.

Don't just take our word for it!

Why not contact Fish Brothers Head of Human Resources, Helen Cameron, who would be happy to discuss her company’s experiences with you. Telephone her on 01793 513843 or e-mail her at hca@fish-bros.co.uk.
