Brunel and Swindon

Swindon Brunel 200

Welcome to Brunel 200 in Swindon.

My family relocated to Swindon in 1998, and like many others I didn’t know much about the town’s railway history. Since joining the Cultural Services Team at Swindon Borough Council in 2003 I have been immersed in Swindon's history.

I have learnt about how the town we live in has developed, discovered the beauty of the railway village, STEAM has become like a second home and I have made lots of new friends!

It has not only been exciting but wonderful to have worked alongside a dedicated team of local voluntary, community, business and professional partners who together have developed and delivered a truly unique cultural festival for and about Swindon.

The Swindon Brunel area on the Borough Council’s website was set up to allow you to find out even more about all the events and activities planned and to be part of this unique festival. We have left the information up so you can still get an idea of the amount of work and dedication that has gone into this momentous event.

I really hope you took part in and enjoyed our Brunel 200 Celebrations!
