Flux: Creative Change, its full title, is delivering a range of arts activities looking to shape the new communities in the North of Swindon, as well as working with all the local schools and community groups, both in and out of school time.
It is being run in conjunction with Create Studio's outreach arm Mobile Media.
Digital artists James and Mark Carroll, who are part of the Mobile Media team, worked with young people from the Youth Service's Underground Centre and together they created the eye catching logo and the new name for the project.
The first year of the Flux programme has seen Mobile Media in action at all of the primary schools in the area, plus holiday and afterschool activities featuring animation, web-design and film-making.
The Flux project will take digital media to the young children of Swindon; via a mixture of project based work and events. Using their striking airstream 33’ vehicle they will be offering a range of digital arts facilities under the guidance of professional digital artists James and Mark Carroll.
Activities will be developed and refined in North Swindon, through the Flux programme, and will then move to other parts of Swindon to benefit young people from many neighbourhoods, with the vehicle moving between schools, youth groups and community settings.
The FluxMobile is equipped with state-of-the-art digital equipment which will enable young people to access media through mobile workshops.
