The Swindon Business Charter is a key document, which has been developed by Swindon Borough Council and local employers, and seeks to formalise the Council's commitment to the business community. It sets out the service standards that local companies can expect from the Council and, in turn, sets out a challenge to businesses to support the community in which they operate.
The Charter will be sent to all companies in the Borough, and business leaders are urged to take the opportunity to sign up and to help us make Swindon the UK's best business location.
An update has now been produced and is being circulated to all companies who have signed up to the Charter since its launch in Summer 2008, as well as being sent to all other major employers and SSEP partners. The update sets out how the Council and the PCT have improved since the launch, broken down by the 8 areas of commitment set out in the original Charter.
If you're interested in signing up to the Business Charter, or to receive a copy of the September update, please contact David Evans.
Staff in the Council's Economic Development team will be contacting all signatories to discuss the latest review, and to seek their views on how Swindon Borough Council has improved over the past year. For more details speak to David Evans.

Business Charter Launch
The Swindon Business Charter was launched on Thursday 26th June 2008 at the STEAM museum. Around 30 local companies attended the event, many of whom signed up to the Charter there and then.
During the launch, the companies were asked to give a view of the Council's recent performance.
