If you have had a carer’s assessment, and are eligible for a service as a carer, you can have the service in the form of a Direct Payment.
Direct Payments are cash payments made directly to you instead of (or in addition to) Social Services arranging and providing carers services for you.
You can then purchase the services you are assessed as needing, instead of them being provided directly by Social Services.
Direct Payments give you more control, flexibility and choice in meeting your needs as a carer; enabling you to continue in your caring role, and helping you to maintain your own health and well-being.
