Complaints Procedure for Children and Young People within the care of Swindon Borough Council

Are you a young person in touch with, or being looked after by, the Children and Families team? Are you worried or unhappy about something?

If you are worried or unhappy about something, it’s important to talk to people to tell them how you feel, otherwise it’s difficult for people to realise that you’re unhappy.

There are a number of choices you can make. You can talk to:

  • Family and friends;
  • Your teacher;
  • Your social worker;
  • Your foster carer;
  • Your key worker;
  • The manager of the home.

It’s helpful to talk and can often stop a small concern becoming a big problem. However, if you have tried to talk to someone close to you about what is worrying you, or making you unhappy, and this has not helped to solve your problem, or if you don’t think there is anyone close to you who you can talk to, here is what you can do:
