Disabled Workers Co-operative

Disabled Workers Co-operative logoThe Disabled Workers Co-operative is a new not-for-profit project whose aim is to create a national searchable database that will match the needs of individual customers wanting a product or service with a local disabled person who is able to provide that product or service.

Any disabled individual will be able to register their details, location and skills. The directory will also be available to organisations that employ disabled people.

Its aim is to develop and improve the earning potential of disabled individuals who can offer a product or service.

For many skilled, disabled people it is not being able to work that is the problem, it is the impracticability of getting to and from work or finding new customers. This can be even more of a problem in rural areas. The project also aims to increase awareness of the skills, abilities and worth of disabled people.
