Art on Tour Engagement Programme
Our Art on Tour Engagement Officer is working with partners across Swindon to take more art to more people in more places. We will be curating exhibitions and displays of original artwork from the Swindon Collection of Modern British Art. Two engaging temporary exhibitions are already on display at STEAM Museum and Swindon Borough Council Civic Offices.
A programme of talks, tours and workshops will run alongside these exhibitions.

Art on Tour Goes Digital!
In response to the Covid-19 crisis, we thought creatively about how best to continue the Art on Tour outreach project and launched a new digital platform to bring our nationally significant art collection to people’s living rooms!
To help combat worry, boredom and isolation, we share daily digital content so that people explore and engage with the Swindon Collection of Modern British Art from the comfort of their own sofas! The focus is on providing daily inspiration, learning, and fun for people at this difficult time, as we continue to work towards the Art on Tour mission of bringing more art to more people in more places.
‘Art on Tour At Home’ provides:
- daily Art Burst online learning resources to support families
- curated online galleries featuring the best of the Collection
- inspiring Art Snaps (hyper-link to Art Snaps page on blog) podcasts
- an art blog (hyper-link to blog home page) with news and interviews from the art world
- a daily art challenge for a dose of creative silliness!
- educational resources for teachers and schools
- a series of ‘People’s Galleries’ to display at-home creations
