Art on Tour Schools Outreach Programme

What is ‘Art on Tour’?

Swindon Museum and Art Gallery is very excited to launch the ‘Art on Tour’ project, aiming to bring more art to more people in more places. The project encompasses a touring exhibition programme, community engagement events, and a Swindon schools programme.

The ‘Art on Tour’ Schools Programme is a fully-funded eight month art education outreach project, free to Swindon schools. We are working with partner schools over an extended period to offer a series of curriculum-linked art engagement activities. All activities take place on the school site.

How does it work?

The full package offered to schools is below. We recognise that not all settings will have the time or capacity to be involved with all stages of the project, so this acts as a menu of options which schools can choose from.

1. Pop-up gallery – Mr Bomford’s Travelling Imaginarium!

2. Kick-stARTer workshop – engaging with the pop-up gallery

3. CPD training for staff and teaching resources

4. Cross-curricular workshop – using art as a springboard

5. Class creative project

Please click here for more information on each of the activities. Once you have had discussions with staff, please let me know via email which elements of the project you are interested in and we can get some dates in the diary!
