When all this was Fields

Featuring selected paintings from the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery collections, this exhibition shows Swindon before industrialisation; lost views of the countryside, now overtaken by urban expansion.

Open Monday – Saturday: 10am – 5pm (last admission 4pm), and Sunday: 11am – 4pm (last admission 3pm).

Civic Offices –

Landscape and Longing

This exhibition explores relationships between human beings and nature, through collections from Swindon Museum and Art Gallery.  The exhibition showcases two paintings by Dee Ferris, presented through the Contemporary Art Society in January 2023.  Ferris’ artworks are accompanied by landscape paintings, studio ceramics and natural history specimens from the Museum’s collections.  Together, they consider how creativity and collecting reflect a human longing to connect with the natural world.

Venue: Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JH

Opening times: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (closed on Bank Holidays)

Parking: Visitors may use the Civic Offices car park for a maximum of 30 minutes.  Several car parks are located within short walking distance from the venue.

Find out more about the artworks on display with our new programme of lunchtime tours:
