Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment

The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA)  - 2008

The final report for the Swindon Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) - 2008 has been completed. The assessment identifies potential housing capacity sites and assesses whether such sites are deliverable or developable for housing. The findings will be used as evidence to demonstrate a 5 - year supply of housing on deliverable sites and a supply of developable sites for longer term. The SHLAA will form a technical evidence base within the Local Development Framework (LDF) and inform the Submission Draft of the Core Strategy and the development of the Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD).

The purpose of the SHLAA is to provide an assessment of housing land availability, and the identification of sites should not be taken as representing either an intention to allocate these sites for housing, or as material planning consideration in the determination of a planning application.

The Swindon Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) - 2008 is available for public consultation from 9 March 2009 to 20 April 2009 (6 weeks) and can be downloaded below. Comments or representations on the SHLAA should be submitted to the Council within the above time period and will be considered as part of the Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD).
