Vehicle Crossing ('Dropped Kerb')

Vehicle crossings (often referred to as 'dropped kerbs') are the construction of an access to a property from the public highway to allow vehicles in and out of private property.

These are usually required by households who wish to park their vehicle 'off road'. Vehicle crossings can also be installed in commercial properties. In some instances planning permission is required, however in all instances highway authorisation is required. Works must be carried out by an approved contractor who must hold the relevant public liability insurance.
