LolipopEarly Years (0-5 Years)

The Road Safety Team has established links with the local health authority and is happy to visit childminders, nurseries and pre-school groups providing information and advice for parents and children.

Further Information

A useful source of information is the Traffic Club website (www.trafficclub.org).

We promote, encourage and provide cycle and pedestrian training schemes along with a varied programme of projects and resources to complement the national curriculum, numeracy and literacy project

Further Information

The following websites offer useful general information about road safety for children aged 5-11:

Senior Schools (12 - 15 years)

'Stay alert to traffic' posterTraffic is the single biggest cause of accidental death for 12-16 years olds. Six out of ten teens have either been in an accident/near miss or know someone at school who has been. Teens get distracted when they cross the road by talking and having fun with their friends, chatting on their mobile phone, listening to music, or just thinking about something else.

We have lesson plans and resources available on request.
