Passenger Transport Services organises and manages free home-to-centre transport on behalf of Social Services for around 200 clients attending day centres and for some students attending college.

Swindon’s Day Services are currently under review and at the present time individual day centre managers assess who is eligible for transport. The Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities (CTPLD) determines eligibility for their clients, including some students attending college.

Transport is provided under contract by local minibus and taxi/private hire companies. Major contracts are normally let on a five-yearly basis. Currently this transport costs around £420,000 per year.
