Why Park and Ride?
Swindon Borough Council and Thamesdown Transport have made changes to the Park & Ride bus service in Swindon, with new timetables and bus fares from Tuesday, 27th May 2008.
You leave your car (or cycle) free of charge and travel on a frequent, modern and comfortable bus into the heart of Swindon. Some of the route uses bus lanes and there are other bus priority measures to speed the journey. You avoid the stress of traffic congestion and looking for parking places. Huge savings on long stay car parking charges can be made.
Why park at them?
Parking is free (you pay only for the bus fare) and each site has CCTV, waiting rooms and toilets.
What about cyclists?
Covered accommodation is provided for cycles.
How easy is it to get on the bus?
The buses are designed to allow easy access. They have ramps and most can also kneel down at bus stops. There’s room for buggies and shopping trolleys. Most buses can carry two wheelchairs and all can carry at least one.
