The National Trust relocated to Swindon and opened its superb new Heelis central office in 2005. It is a welcome addition to Swindon's widening portfolio of premier organisations.
With 3.4 million members and 43,000 volunteers, the National Trust protects and opens over 300 historic houses and gardens, and 49 industrial monuments and mills to the public. It also looks after forests, woods, fens, beaches, farmland, downs, moorland, islands, archaeological remains, castles, nature reserves, and villages.
