Group Visits
We welcome group visitors to Lydiard House & Park but ask that all group and coach bookings are made in advance
Group admission charges
Group admission to Lydiard House for 12 or more people is £3.00 for adults and £2.50 for senioor citizens with free admission for the Group Organiser or coach driver. We recommend that you allow time to visit St Mary’s Church, which is adjacent to the house, as well as the beautiful grounds of Lydiard Park.
Guided Tours
We can offer a lively and informative guided tour through the State Rooms of Lydiard House. The cost of a guided tour for a maximum of 25 people is £25.00 plus group admission. All tours must be booked in advance.
Group Refreshments
Home-made refreshments can usually be provided for group visitors by special arrangement with volunteers from St Mary’s Church Mothers Union Group. All meals are served in the Stable Room, close to Lydiard House and St Mary’s Church, which can comfortably seat up to 25 people. Groups of over 25 will be accommodated in two (or more) sittings. You can book:
- Sandwich lunch with cake & tea - £4.50 per person
- Ploughman’s Lunch, with cake & tea - £4.00 per person
- Tea, scones & cakes - £3.50 per person
- Tea, scones & jam - £3.50 per person
- Coffee & biscuits - £1.50 per person
It is essential that all group refreshments are booked well in advance and that you confirm your menu choice and numbers at least 2 weeks before your visit. Proceeds for these refreshments go towards the church repair fund. Alternatively you are welcome to picnic in the grounds.
Cloakroom Facilities
Toilets are situated at the Visitor Centre next to the main car park. There are no toilets in Lydiard House or in the stable. The Visitor Centre is short walk across the lawn or along the drive.
Coach Parking / Access
There is ample coach parking at the main car park, by the Visitor Centre – access off Hook Street (follow brown signs to Lydiard Park). However you may wish to arrange that the coach drops your group off close to the doors of Lydiard House & Church and in this instance, we would recommend using the entrance to the Park that is situated off Tregoze Way / Hay Lane.
