Works schedule

The restoration to Lydiard Park is essential to reverse the decline in its rich historic landscape, which had been gradually falling into a state of neglect of a great number of years. The principal garden features including the lost lake, massive dam wall and the ornamental fruit and flower garden will be restored, allowing Lydiard Park to regain its former beauty and significance. At the same time, the Council is planning to upgrade visitor amenities and improve access to enhance everyone’s enjoyment of this beautiful parkland. Schedule of works:

  1. Reinstating the ‘lost lake’ - September 2005 to May 2006
  2. Restoring the Stables & Coach House - November 2005 to May 2006
  3. De-silting the upper lake - March 2006
  4. Dam wall repairs - March to October 2006
  5. New porch for house access - January to March 2006
  6. New children’s play area - March to July 2006
  7. Restore walled garden - April 2006 to August 2007
  8. Path works across site - March 2006 to April 2007
  9. Ornamental lake walk - September 2007 to September 2008
  10. Fencing, planting & tree works - November 2006 to March 2009
