Aquafit

A water-based approach to fitness and rehabilitation for swimmers and non-swimmers alike. The buoyancy of water enables you to exercise and / or recover from injury with minimal strain on joints, improving your fitness level by working against the resistance of water in a structured, enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere. The class is taught by a fully-qualified Aquafit instructor.

Aquanatal

This water-based exercise class provides numerous health benefits during pregnancy and following birth. The buoyancy of water enables you to perform non weight bearing exercises in a safe environment. Classes are instructed by a fully-qualified fitness instructor, with a midwife present. The routine is performed to music.

Sessions For Everyone

Casual Swim

An open session where everyone can come along and enjoy a relaxing swim in a safe environment.
The wave machine, water cannon, hydro-slides and Lagoon Falls open topped slide are operational at these times. The small pool with the elephant slide and interactive Pirate Ship for the under 8's is also available.
The small pool will be closed when swimming lessons take place - please check pool timetable before you visit.

Please note: At peak times the Oasis runs a timed session system. These sessions are approximately 1 hour in duration.

During the School Term the small pool is closed to the public for Junior swimming lessons from 3.30pm till 5.30pm each weekday.

Laned Swim

A session specifically designed for those who want to improve their fitness in a controlled environment with no interruption. The pool is divided into two lanes - slow and fast - and swimmers are encouraged to swim in the most appropriate lane in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.
The pool is still open to casual swimmers but the wave machine and water cannon are not operational at this time.

Masters Swim (over 40's swim)

These informal sessions are aimed at the older age group. Swim at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere.

Stepping Stones

This session provides an opportunity for users with disabilities to swim in a safe atmosphere, and if they wish, to bring along a helper at no extra cost.

Toddler Splash

Playing in water is a great way to build your child's confidence. We provide casual swim sessions where babies and pre-school children accompanied by their parent / guardian can play and have fun in the water in a safe unthreatening environment. The wave machine is set on a tamer wave pattern at this time.

A fun-filled family session, which includes disco sounds, floats, hydro-slides, wave machine, Lagoon Falls open-topped water slide and water cannon.

Children's Safety Information

Important Information - Please note that NEW supervision ratios for children's safety come into effect from June 2007.

As a guide, the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management (ISRM) advise babies should be 6 months plus, due to temperature and Chlorination levels.

Birthday Parties

Celebrate your birthday party in style at one of our swimming pools. Choose from a party where your birthday tea is provided (Link or Oasis) or provide your own party tea (Dorcan or Health Hydro)

Courses

Enrol on a swimming course and learn to swim or improve your skills, whatever your age or stage, under the guidance of ASA-qualified coaches in accordance with the nationally-recognized award scheme.
