Ice Rink

Ice skating is a cool experience whatever your age or ability and where better to give it a go than The Link Centre ice rink - Wiltshire’s only ice rink.

Link Centre Ice Rink

The international-sized ice pad at the Link Centre is recognised as a 'Centre of Excellence' for both figure skating and ice hockey. It is an approved national centre for squad training for the National Ice Skating Association and British Ice Hockey Associations, it is also a NISA approved regional test centre and it provides the south-west with a popular attraction which offers sessions for all ages and abilities.

General Advice:

Whether you are a seasoned skater or a newcomer to the ice rink, the following tips should make your visit more enjoyable.

Busy Periods

  • January to April is usually our busiest time - to avoid disappointment please arrive early to avoid queueing when the sessions have began.

Clothing

  • Dress comfortably, wear thick socks, gloves and warm clothing.
  • Please avoid scarves, big coats or baggy clothing.

Skates

  • These are available for hire in a full range of shoe sizes, the smallest we offer is junior size 5.
  • Please ensure that your skates are done up correctly and that they are a good fit, tuck the tongues in and ensure they are tight around the ankle.
  • Skate hire is included in your entrance fee.

Ice Stewards

  • Stewards, identified by Orange tops, are provided on busy sessions for your safety and enjoyment, please ensure that you follow their guidance and abide by the rules.

Penguin stability aids

  • Designed to help the under 5's gain confidence in skating. These are available for hire from ice rink reception. For more information, please click on the following page, penguins hire

Plan your visit, phone ahead

  • To ensure that your visit will not ba a wasted one please phone Link Centre main reception on the day for the latest information - 01793 445566.
Under 8's - must be supervised by a responsible adult 16+ years old.
Unders 12's  - must be supervised by a responsible adult after 6.00pm.

  • Family Skating sessions
  • Parent and Toddler sessions (known as Starlets)
  • Skoolz Out SK8
  • Cool Kids Club
  • Traditional skate
  • Club Classics
  • Sub Zero (Club night).

Recreation sessions include:

  • Recreation Dance
  • Dance Fitness
  • Edge and Balance
  • Disabled Skate

Please note: The 90 minute session pricing only applies to the 'Skoolz Out Skating' sessions on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon.
All other sessions are priced at the 2 hour duration.

Group Bookings
Group bookings are always welcome, so if you fancy bringing a party of 12 or more along to ice skate please contact our Programming Officer on 01793 465461.

The Ice Rink has to close from time to time because of events or maintenance. Before visiting please click onto the link below which will take you to the closure page, to ensure that the Rink will be open at the time of your visit.
