New Swimming Pool

Pool pictureFollowing a 10 year campaign, the trustees of the Rec have managed to raise £1.4 million pounds to enable the pool roof project to go ahead. During these 10 years, it has not been easy, but work finally started on the 4 June 2007.

Redevelopment projects:

  • a new tiled pool basin
  • re-instatement of the 1m and 3m diving boards
  • a roof which will open at the sides to enable users to sunbathe in the warmer weather
  • lighting - including new underwater lighting
  • ventilation
  • new pool plant
  • a new pool hoist
