Dance Classes - The Rec

Highworth Rec offers a range of dance classes for all ages and abilities.

Pay as You Go Classes

Just turn up and take part.

Adult Ballet (Term-time only)

Ballet, a theatrical form of dance was developed in the courts of Renaissance Italy. Ballet can be a very expressive art form, telling stories and showing emotions. Whether you have studied ballet before or just want to learn some new delicate dance moves - this class is for you.

Ballet - Tots Beginners

(2 - 3 years and beginners 4 years)

This fun-based activity for the youngest children offers achievement awards and a performance in the summer. Warm-ups, basic positioning of feet and arms and even some French words are learned in an atmosphere of freedom and creativity.

Ballet - Junior Mixed Ability

(5 years and 6 years)

Junior beginners and those who have been to classes previously work in ability groups to build confidence and experience through listening to instructions and practising improvisation skills.

(8 - 15 years)

Contemporary, pop and jazz music bring this dance-form right up to date in group-based courses, which major on technique and choreography, teaching basic steps and co-ordination skills.
