Funding

Active Swindon does not fund community projects however if you are looking for help with funding bids for sport and physical activity programmes the funding officer will be able to advise you of sources of funding. Assistance may be given in completing application forms providing the recipient is willing to promote the Active Swindon brand and to assist with the monitoring of the impact of the funding

A significant amount of external funding has already been sourced to support the work of voluntary sector partners to deliver physical activity opportunities, including:

  • a £50k from the  Big Lottery Peoples Millions fund to build a Multi use games area in Penhill park by summer 06
  • £7.5k for climbing equipment to teach disabled children at the Link Centre
  • £7.5k for Toothill Youth Club to enable them to run a sports club during school holidays in February, Easter and Summer 2006
  • £7k for Penhill Knights football club for equipment and running costs.
