Read online - eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers

Borrow and download books, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers side by side, in a single app.

If you aren't a member, you can join online.  

You will need to create a BorrowBox account to use this service, with your library card number and PIN:

  • Download the BorrowBox app to your device. BorrowBox is compatible with iOS, Android and Kindle Fire.
  • If using a PC or Mac, go to Swindon BorrowBox where you will also find a help section at the bottom of the page

You can borrow up to six books, six audiobooks, and six magazines or newspapers.

The items automatically delete at the end of the loan period of two weeks so there is no need to worry about overdue charges.

System requirements

  • iOS: the minimum fully supported software version is iOS 12. For iOS devices running iOS 9,10 and 11, the last BorrowBox app version that can be installed is 3.11.10. 
  • Android: the minimum fully supported version on Android is Android 5.0. Devices running Android 4.2 and above can still install and use BorrowBox app version 3.02.15, but will no longer receive future app updates.

Please note: The library Libby app is no longer available so you will need to download the BorrowBox app to read online.
