Additional help and support

If you are struggling financially, there is advice and support options on the Swindon Money Matters webpage.

Warm Home Discount

The Warm Home Discount is a £150 discount on your electricity bill, given between October and April by your electricity supplier. You do not need to apply for this discount. If you are eligible you will be automatically identified and the discount awarded to you. You can check if you are eligible at GOV.UK.

Priority services register

Some people need extra help and support during a power cut. If you are registered on the Priority Services Register then you will get this extra support. It is free and easy to sign up to.

To see if you qualify for the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Priority Services Register, visit Centre for Sustainable Energy.

In addition to this, you can also sign up to your individual gas and electricity suppliers Priority Services Register, as these may have additional benefits.

Contact them directly for more information and to see what their schemes offer.

Useful guides

The following guides will provide you with further information. Some of these guides were produced as part of the Swindon Safe & Warm scheme which is no longer active, but the information is still accurate and useful:
