Main community grants fund

Applications for the main Grants Fund can be up to £1000 and can be used to support events/projects in Swindon, of which £250 can be used to support things like helping with running expenses or printing newsletters.

There is a central pot available for town-wide events and projects with remaining funding being delegated to the seven localities for Swindon Borough Councillors to approve.

New shoots grants

For Swindon residents or informal groups who have an idea for a project which will benefit their local community, there is a New Shoots grant which has its own application form. The maximum grant available to an individual or new group is £200.

When to apply

For 2016-2017 grants, the dates for the final submission of applications are as follows:

  • 30 June 2016
  • 30 September 2016
  • 31 January 2017

Important information

Each application must have the support of a local councillor. To find details of Swindon Borough councillors, go to the SBC Councillors webpage or alternatively contact the Grants Team.

The following information should be submitted with all grant applications:

  • A completed Grants Fund Application Form in the name of the applying group/individual
  • Evidence of your annual turnover  e.g.copy of annual audited accounts or link to website
  • Evidence that you have a Membership/Management Group  e.g. list of trustees/members
  • Evidence of your Equalities statement
  • Evidence of an agreed governing document e.g. Constitution, Terms of Reference
  • Evidence of your bank account name and bank account number from an official source  e.g. recent bank statement
  • Evidence that your proposal has the support of a current Swindon Borough Councillor
