Parish and town councils

In addition to services provided by Swindon Borough Council, the borough is also served by parish and town councils.

The parish and town councils are responsible for the maintenance of their parishes, including street cleaning and grass cutting.

They are also responsible for a number of other services including recreation grounds, parks, play areas, burial grounds and allotments within their parishes. They are also statutory consultees on all planning applications submitted in a parish.
