Find out about mixed plastics recycling collections

We undertake a fortnightly collection of household mixed plastics. For dates, please:

Check your refuse and recycling collection days.

By mixed plastics we mean the following types of plastic items that would have contained food, drink or household cleaning products:

  • Plastic bottles
  • Margarine tubs
  • Ice cream tubs
  • Yoghurt pots
  • Plastic bags
  • Cling film and other plastic food wrapping film
  • Biscuit trays
  • Cake trays
  • Meat trays
  • Fruit and vegetable trays
  • Plastic take-away tubs

These items should be clean (dirty items contaminate and will not be collected) and, should be placed in any transparent or white plastic sack. We do not provide these for you.

Please do not include: black plastic, polystyrene and expanded polystyrene, plastic toys, plant pots, plastic furniture, buckets, hard plastic storage containers or washing up bowls.

Bags of mixed plastics should be placed, ready for collection, on the nearest point of your property to the highway, by 6.30am on your collection day.

Bulky items such as garden furniture can be disposed of at the Household Waste Recycling Centre.
