The international-sized ice pad at the Link Centre is recognised as a 'Centre of Excellence' for both figure skating and ice hockey. It is an approved national centre for squad training for the National Ice Skating Association and British Ice Hockey Associations. It is also a NISA approved regional test centre and it provides the south-west with an attraction which offers sessions for all ages and abilities.

General Advice
Whether you are a seasoned skater or a newcomer to the ice rink, the following tips should make your visit more enjoyable.
Busy Periods
January to April is usually our busiest time - to avoid disappointment please arrive early to avoid queuing when the sessions have begun.
Clothing
Dress comfortably, wear thick socks, gloves and warm clothing and please avoid scarves, big coats or baggy clothing. Please ensure that all caps or hats are also removed before skating.
Skates
These are available for hire in a full range of shoe sizes, the smallest we offer is junior size 5.
Please ensure skates are fastened correctly and that they are a good fit, tucking the tongues in and ensuring the skates are as tight as possible around the ankle.
Ice Stewards
Stewards, identified by Orange tops, are provided on busy sessions for your safety and enjoyment. Please ensure that you follow their guidance and abide by the rules.
Penguin Stability Aids
Designed to help the under 5's gain confidence in skating, these aids are available for hire from ice rink reception.
