The Tenants Association for Sheltered Housing (TASH) is a group of tenants who live in the 33 sheltered housing schemes managed by Swindon Borough Council.
They are a constituted group and two of their main aims are to:
- Promote the interests of all sheltered housing tenants and to assist in maintaining good relations between all members of the community
- Promote all residents’ rights and the maintenance and improvement of housing conditions, amenities and the environment
Members of the group meet every other month, on a Monday afternoon, to discuss issues which affect sheltered housing tenants such as:
- Rent payment arrangements
- Understanding supporting people
- Homeline service
- Warden service
- Improvements to homes
- Repairs issues
- Individual scheme issues
- Services for older people or people with disabilities
- Re-modelling of some schemes to include extra care
- Security
- Equalities issues
- Regular updates on housing benefits, the Repairs and Improvements Programme and the Housing Improvements Programme
Officers and Membership
Members of TASH elect officers for the group at their annual general meeting, which is usually held in June of each year. The current post holders are:

Membership of the group is currently open to any Swindon Borough Council tenant who is resident in one of the 33 Council sheltered housing schemes. The group is working towards all 33 sheltered housing schemes having a formally elected representative to TASH.
