If in Doubt - Shut Them Out!

Good advice for anyone! Don't let anyone into your home without knowing exactly who they are and that they have a valid reason for being there. To check this out, take into account the following before letting anyone into your home:

• All council employees must carry their official identity card, which includes their photograph

• All contractors working on behalf of the Council must carry an identity card

• You are strongly advised to check the identity card before allowing anyone access to your home

• All genuine council staff or contractors will be able to provide the name and telephone number of a council officer with whom you can check and will be prepared to wait outside until you have done so
