Improvement Programme Overview

We aim "To effectively maintain and improve the housing stock and local environment". We do this through our maintenance and energy work and through a continual programme of home improvements.

'Improving Swindon Homes' is an on-going programme of internal modernisation and improvements to kitchens, bathrooms and layout, to our older homes.

Our 'Energy Efficiency' programme is designed to improve the energy efficiency of our homes by reducing the heat lost through poor insulation. The programme includes the provision of efficient central heating systems, cavity wall and loft insulation.

The re-wires scheme is another important part of our maintenance work. Each year a number of properties across the town are rewired and electrical wiring to communal areas in flats is brought up to modern standards.

If you would like to know more about our improvement programme please contact Gerry O'Connor on Swindon 01793 463452 or email: go'connor@swindon.gov.uk
