Swindon has now approved its HMO LICENCE CONDITIONS that will apply to all Houses in Multiple Occupation for which a Licence is required.

The HMO Licence will run for a maximum period of 5 years, although shorter duration Licences can be issued, and a fee will be payable.  This fee is designed to cover the Local Authorities costs in administering the HMO Licence.

Swindon has now decided its fee scales.  They are as follows:

Initial HMO Licence:
Properties comprising up to 5 letting units
                                                            £300.00
Each additional letting unit above 5
                                                              £60.00

Initial HMO Licence (Swindon Accredited Landlords):
Properties comprising up to 5 letting units
                                                            £200.00
Each additional letting unit above 5
                                                              £50.00

Re-Issue of Licence:
Where circumstances unchanged:
                                                            £200.00
In changed circumstances
                                                            £300.00
Swindon Accredited Landlords(All circumstances)
                                                            £200.00

Transfer of Licence
All circumstances
                                                            £300.00

Additional Charges
Where applications are received after the first
3 months of the scheme going live
                                              +20% of total fee
Where landlords fail to respond within 28days
to justified requests for an application, renewal OR
information required in respect of
incomplete applications
                                               +20% of total fee
