Equalities

All council service areas are very aware of the need to ensure equality of access to all and to avoid discrimination.

Because of this, housing has developed a comprehensive Equalities Action Plan, which will enable us and our stakeholders to keep an eye on progress. The action plan includes targets and commitments about:

  • Dealing with harassment
  • Equalities training for staff
  • Resources for interpreting and translating services
  • Consultation
  • Monitoring take-up of services
  • Fairness in recruitment and employment
  • Working with partners and contractors

The Equalities Action Plan is available as a downloadable pdf:
