All new tenants are offered an introductory tenancy unless they are already a secure council tenant or an assured tenant of a housing association.
An introductory tenancy normally lasts for a trial period of 12 months. After this - if there have been no problems with your behaviour or rent payments - your tenancy will become a secure tenancy.
It is easier for us to evict introductory tenants who persistently breach their tenancy conditions.
