All new tenants are offered an introductory tenancy unless they are already a secure council tenant or an assured tenant of a housing association.
An introductory tenancy normally lasts for a trial period of 12 months. After this - if there have been no problems with your behaviour or rent payments - your tenancy will become a secure tenancy.
It is easier for us to evict introductory tenants who persistently breach their tenancy conditions.
The Tenants Handbook explains your rights and responsibilities and what could happen if you break your tenancy agreement.
