Road Closures
How Will the Road Closures Affect You?
Pipers Way - Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th October 2008
Pipers Way, from Marlborough Road to the Nationwide roundabout, will be closed from 9:00am on Saturday 11th to midnight on Sunday 12th October 2008. The road could open earlier dependent on traffic management.
On Saturday 11th access to Broome Manor Golf Complex from Marlborough Road only.
Pipers Way from Nationwide Roundabout to Croft Road
On Sunday 12th October this section will be closed from 6:00am to 10:00pm. Access only for Nationwide staff and event vehicles.
Other Road Closures
The following roads will be closed from early morning on Sunday 12th October for the duration of the Half Marathon race:
Marlborough Road: closed westbound direction (Coate Water to Pipers Way, Old Town). Access to Marlborough Road will be strictly under the direction of traffic marshals. Eastbound remains open. Any vehicles joining Marlborough Road from adjoining roads will only be able to turn towards Coate Water.
Broome Manor Lane: runners will only use the stretch between Marlborough Road and the alleyway into Downsview Road between 11:20 and approximately 11:45. During these times access onto Marlborough Road will be difficult and strictly under the direction of traffic marshals. The entire length of Broome Manor Lane will be open (with the exception of the above times) with access via Hodson unaffected.
Day House Lane: entire length of the lane is closed.
B4192 from Liddington to Aldbourne: entire length of road is closed.
B4192 from Commonhead Roundabout: access to Hill Side Cottages only via Purley Road. This includes the Sun Inn.
B4192 to King Edward's Place: closed to The Hollow.
The Ridgeway: closed from A346 to B4192.
The Hollow: closed from King Edward's Place to Ham Road.
Ham Road: closed from the intersection with The Hollow through to the B4192. Access to Village Inn only.
B4192 through Badbury village to Ridgeway: closed up to and including the entrance to Folly Farm.
From A346 to Badbury village: access is only possibly up to the intersection with Medbourne Road at the triangle with the telephone box.
Liddington (B4192)
From Wanborough via Ham Road / Bell Lane, including the Village Inn, a one-way system will be in operation. Runners / vehicles will be separated by cones and tape. Residents wishing to enter / exit properties on the runners side of the road should contact the nearest marshal.
Traffic from the lower end of The Street can only turn left into Bell Lane towards the B4192.
Access to Commonhead will be supervised by race marshals when the volume of runners allows.
Traffic trying to access to Liddington church can do so from either end of The Street. When re-entering The Street access via upper end only.
Please note that all access from Liddington will be via Commonhead. No access to Aldbourne.
Parking
When approaching the car parking area (Wroughton Park and Ride) please do so via Wroughton or Croft Road.
