Swindon Central Area Action Plan 

The Central Area Action Plan (CAAP) now forms part of the Local Development Framework for Swindon Borough and provides the planning framework to facilitate the delivery of the regeneration of Central Swindon. At a meeting of Swindon Borough Councils' Full Council on 23rd February 2009 a resolution was made to adopt the Swindon Central Area Action Plan, making it the key planning document against which planning applications in the Central Area will be considered.

Linked strategies

The Area Action Plan also takes account of corporate objectives, in particular those of the Sustainable Community Strategy. The Swindon Strategic Partnership (SSP) has the role of delivering the Sustainable Community Strategy and implementing the Swindon Local Area Agreement (the delivery plan for achieving the Sustainable Community Strategy). Fully integrating work between the SSP and the LDF is vital to ensure that the LDF properly reflects the aspirations and priorities of the Swindon community as expressed in the Sustainable Community Strategy.
