Operators of food businesses are legally required to ensure that all food handlers are supervised and instructed and/or trained in food safety matters relevant to their work activity.
We offer nationally-recognised Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) (Levels 1, 2 and 3) Food Safety courses.
Each course is run several times each year.
Course Details
Level 1
This is appropriate for low risk environments - e.g.:
Bar staff
Waiters
Retail Premises
Schedule: arranged as requested.
Level 2
This is a one-day course for people who work unsupervised in the kitchen preparing high risk food.
Topics covered include:
Temperature Control
Food Legislation
Food Safety Hazards
Cleaning
There is a multiple choice exam at the end of the day.

All courses take place at Park South Community Centre.
Cost: £58 per person inclusive of learning pack, morning coffee and afternoon tea. Lunch is not provided.

Level 3
This is a three-day course for people who supervise others during the production of high risk food.
Topics covered include:
Applying and monitoring good hygiene practice
Staff training
Implementation of food safety management procedures
Food safety management tools
There is a multiple choice exam at the end of the three day course.
