Food Business Registration

On this page: Information and guidance on how to register a food business.

The registration of premises used for a food business is required by law, and that registration is administered in the Borough of Swindon by Swindon Borough Council.

After Registration

Once registered, the business is required to ensure their details are kept up-to-date and notify the Council of any changes to the information submitted. 

Food Safety Management

The law also requires that food businesses have a documented food safety management system, to identify risks and to take action on them. Help with this is available through the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website (see below).
