In line with current best practice, the Landscape Section have recently prepared a landscape assessment of the borough to inform and underpin the appropriate policies in the emerging local plan. This lead to the borough being represented on the steering group for the Landscape Assessment of the North Wessex Downs AONB recently completed for the Countryside Agency (www.countryside.gov.uk).

Presently, the landscape architects are undertaking an evaluation of the quality of open spaces in the borough.
