Waste Development Framework

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act, 2004 requires that County Councils and Unitary Authorities prepare a Waste Development Framework (WDF). Swindon Borough Council is preparing a WDF jointly with Wiltshire County Council, which will comprise:

  • a portfolio of local development plan documents (DPDs)
  • a Local Development Scheme (LDS);
  • Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD); and
  • a Statement of Community Involvement

A Waste Development Forum was set up to progress the issues and options for the various DPDs. The forum's work can be viewed through the following link: Waste Development Forum
