SWINDON BOROUGH LOCAL POLICY FORUM

Introduction

A Local Policy Forum has been established to enable the local community and other key stakeholders to play an influential role in progressing the documents that will make up the Local Development Framework (LDF). It is intended that the forum will be convened at key stages in the preparation of these documents.

The Local Policy Forum allows for ongoing debate and discussion on planning policy issues in the Borough. The outcomes of the Forum will be used to inform and shape drafts of the various Development Plan Documents that the Council are to produce. The Forum is an ongoing venture. It is not intended to be political. It draws on a range of interests who all have an equal right to heard, and whose views carry equal validity. It is a means of helping to achieve, and demonstrate full participation in the development plan making process.

Forum meetings will be independently facilitated by Adams Hendry Consulting Ltd. Adams Hendry is a leading, independent UK town planning consultancy with a reputation for providing impartial and creative advice on a wide range of planning issues.
