Educational Activities - Orienteering at Coate Water

(Site Specific)

This is suitable for KS2 and beyond, but smaller temporary courses can be set up for younger children.

Timing: This will depend on the length of course chosen and the ability of the group, but at least one and a half hours will be needed.

Orienteering Activity Coate Water Country Park is able to offer this facility with a number of permanent courses to choose from that have been tailored to challenge all ages and abilities. There are five courses of varying length and difficulty entirely within the boundaries of the Park whilst two longer, more challenging routes take in Croft Wood.

This facility needs to be pre-booked to ensure your group has priority on your chosen course and sole use of all the equipment needed. This also means that the Rangers are aware of your presence on the site and can therefore assist more quickly if an emergency occurs.

Once booked, groups can either opt to run their session independently or have a Ranger to lead the activity. The Ranger will include a brief intro into the sport, the course and the safety aspects before running the practical session.
