Green Champions

What is the Green Champions Network?

Green Champions LogoTo help encourage 'green' working practices within Swindon Borough Council a network of 60 staff has been established and they are known as the Green Champions. Staff have been recruited from 30 sites across the Council.

What do the Green Champions do?

Green Champions promote an energy awareness campaign. Champions promote behaviour change by encouraging colleagues to switch off their PC's and light at the end of the day.

Champions Role

Green Champions:

  • Put up posters
  • Hold displays in their buildings to promote the campaign
  • Conduct quarterly energy spot checks
