Please go the Current Consultation section of the website for further information.

What are short breaks?

Short breaks provide opportunities for parents and carers of disabled children and young people to have a break from their caring responsibilities. Short breaks also enable disabled children and young people to enjoy social and leisure activities. Short breaks can include day, evening, overnight, weekend or holiday activities. They can be at home or away from home.

There are a wide range of short break services available for families of disabled children and young people in Swindon. For more information please click here to view the Swindon Short Breaks Leaflet (114 KB). Or look at Swindon’s 'Short Breaks Statement'. Anyone who would like information, advice and guidance about short break services in Swindon can also contact the Aiming High Short Breaks Team (contact details below).
