Services for Primary School Children

Holiday childcare services for primary school-aged children aim to provide a safe environment for children to have a good time while their parents are at work. Across Swindon holiday childcare services are offered by a variety of registered providers including:

Some holiday childcare services are located on school sites. However, the child does not have to attend that school to use the holiday club located there.

Providers charge for holiday childcare services, and it is recommended that parents ask about financial help (please see Paying for Childcare and Family Information Service).

Services for Secondary School Children

Most group-based holiday childcare services offer provision to children up to the age of twelve.

Some registered groups and childminders do offer provision for older children, but compared with services for younger children there are fewer choices.

Many families manage using a combination of leisure activities, informal care with family and friends and flexible working.
